Susan Angel, MSN, ARNP
Clinical Director & Sub Investigator

Susan Angel has nearly 20 years of combined experience in direct clinical services and administration in mental health settings. Her wide range of experience includes inpatient and outpatient treatment of populations with both mental health and/or substance abuse disorders. As a Nurse Practitioner, she has enjoyed working in a variety of settings involving community mental health as well as the private sector. Prior to joining CNS Healthcare, Susan served as the Nurse Executive for two local psychiatric hospitals where she oversaw a large clinical trial unit within one of the hospitals. Susan received her Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from Florida State University and her Master’s Degree in Nursing from the University of Florida. She is a licensed Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner in the State of Florida. 

Christy Vickery, MBA,CCRP
Administrative Director

Christy, our Assistant Director, has been working in research and clinical trials since that began with her work at the world renowned Mayo Clinic in1998. She has extensive experience in assessing and treating people living with depression, anxiety, and numerous other mood disorders and cognitive disorders.  

Dawn Carney, BA, BSN, MSPH, RN
Clinical Research Coordinator

Dawn joined us in 2008 as a Clinical Research Coordinator. She has been working in clinical trials and research since 2000 and has conducted numerous epidemiology trials as the PI. In addition to her strong psychiatric skills and experience, she also has a strong medical background and worked as an Infection Control Practitioner at a large medical center for several years. She is also an adjunct faculty member with the University of Phoenix.  

Ian Fergusson, RN
Clinical Research Coordinator

Ian is a Clinical Research Coordinator with over 25 years of clinical experience in Psychiatry. He has a background in both inpatient hospitals and outpatient settings. He has worked with all age groups from adolescents through the elderly. His sense of humor and commitment to caring for patients bring tremendous value to the team.  

Sarah Fox, M.A.
Prescreener / CRC

Sarah joined CNS Healthcare in our Jacksonville office in August 2011. Sarah earned her BA in Education and her MA in Counseling Psychology. In addition to 5 years of teaching experience, Sarah has 3 years of experience working with pediatric and adult populations in an outpatient setting. She has also worked in correctional facilities providing therapeutic intervention. Her experience includes individual and group psychotherapy; psychosexual, neuropsychological, intelligence, achievement, and personality assessments; and mental health diagnosis. Sarah is also an Instructor at Valdosta State University. 

Melissa Pohle, RN
Clinical Research Coordinator

Melissa is a Registered Nurse and works with CNS Healthcare as a Clinical Research Coordinator She joined us in 2006 and has over 12 years of experience as a Psychiatric Nurse, assisting patients with mental health needs on both an outpatient and inpatient basis.  

Lauren Tomlinson, BA, CCRP
Clinical Research Coordinator

Lauren is a Clinical Research Coordinator and has been working in the field of research, and central nervous system compound clinical trials since 1997. She brings to us nearly a decade of expertise working with Alzheimer's disease and Dementia patients at a world renowned clinic. Lauren also has over four years of experience as a social worker with diverse groups of people.  

Whitney Nobles, M.A., M.Ed., Ed.S., Ph.D., NCC
Clinical Research Coordinator

Whitney joined CNS Healthcare in our Jacksonville office in early 2011. Whitney has over seven years of experience working in psychiatry and mental health. She has earned multiple degrees in psychology and counseling, including a BA in Psychology, two Master’s degrees in Counseling Psychology and Counselor Education, an Education Specialist degree, and Doctorate (PhD) degree in Mental Health Counseling. Whitney is also an Instructor at the University of Florida. 

Leigh Anne Whitaker, RN
Clinical Research Coordinator

Leigh Anne is a Registered Nurse with over 9 years of experience working with pediatric, adult and geriatric populations. In addition to her extensive experience in psychiatry, she has also worked at several large medical/surgical hospitals and gained nursing skills in pre/post operative care, urology, emergency care, critical care, oncology, dialysis, cardiovascular, neurological and diabetes care. She also was the Director of Nursing at a large skilled nursing facility prior to joining us.
